Paper based tests We offer a range of tests, covering generic knowledge and a range of specialist subjects, which is growing all the time. You receive a testing ‘kit’ by email, which includes the test itself, answers, a blank answer paper for candidates, and a marking grid. The kit for most specialist subjects also includes a syllabus, which should help those being tested to target their revision. If you are recruiting, you will find it invaluable to use a test as part of the process. Understanding the potential recruit’s existing level of knowledge is a vital part of the information you need to make your decision with confidence. Diagnostic testing We also provide diagnostic testing materials, to help identify gaps in knowledge and areas which would repay further study. Our software package CPD Question Master (CQM) is divided into 14 subject areas, and questions are pitched at a high level. The intention is not to give a pass/fail result, but rather to explore the boundaries of the adviser’s knowledge. The adviser and supervisor can then discuss any areas identified and decide which are most important in terms of CPD. [CQM details - pdf] [CQM Testing Syllabus - pdf] If you prefer paper-based tests, we can supply questions at a similar level on paper, on a regular 3 month cycle, with supervisor notes which briefly explain the technical background to each question. |
