Advisers often find it difficult to plan their CPD effectively, particularly with so much change taking place in the industry and we have found that many overcome this difficulty by subscribing to FPP (Financial Planning Professional, our monthly CPD newsletter). FPP is also a useful publication if your advisers are studying for examinations as it often contains relevant articles.

Each month Financial Planning Professional carries articles which refresh and update basic knowledge and explore more technical subjects in depth, under three regular section headings: Foundations, From Competence to Expertise and For the Specialist.There is also a Training and Supervision article each month, which examines issues of particular relevance to trainers and supervisors. The schedule of contents is published well in advance, which means your advisers can plan ahead, relating their other CPD activities to articles in FPP.

 In addition there are multiple choice self-test questions which allow readers to check their understanding of the technical contents of each issue - or to give supervisors the means to test their advisers.

A year's subscription to FPP costs £190 for 12 monthly issues, or £50 per quarter by standing order, and this includes a binder. We offer substantial discounts for bulk subscriptions to the same address.

Some of our clients also receive FPP in an electronic format so that they can distribute it to their advisers via email or their intranet and I thought you may be interested in receiving details of this.
